Lt. Karl Heinrich Buttner----- marked on Albatros D1 391/16 (w/n 2944) with jasta 2---Nov.1916.

He was downed on 16th. Nov. (by Cpt. Parker and Lt. Hervey in a B.E.2c) and the Albatros was assigned the no.G1

Windows usually has a "Character Map" listed under "All Programs", "Accessories", then "System Tools". The Character Map contains all sorts of unusual letters and other symbols not normally found on a regular keyboard.

I got this from the Map. ü

Of course, it does slow down one's typing until you get used to using it.

Ü or ü

Press the Alt key, then type 0220 on the number-pad for Ü.
Or Alt plus 0252 for ü.

Note that there are other Alt codes for more German letters and French, etc.

Another way is to, whenever you see a special character like ü, copy and paste it into a Word document. Then whenever you want to use it you can copy and paste it back into where ever you need it.
