B.E.2c colors in Arabia

Hi Everyone,
I'm working on Roden's 1/48 scale B.E.2c and I want to do 4395 posted in Arabia. Roden's instuctions and cover art would have me paint fuselage and upper surfaces brown. Would this be red brown used by RFC in tropical areas? Page 12 of Datafile 42 shows a photo in which it looks almost like CDL. What's the prevailing wisdon on this?
Thanks for any help you can provide,
Bud

The colour you refer to..............

is PC12, a reddish brown type that the RFC/RAF used in tropical climes. Check with Mike Taylor at Mister Kit, I believe he has that colour in his range of paints. Regards, Pete.

Thanks, Pete. I believe the tropical reddish brown is AMAPDT reddish brown. The first reference I had seen to this was on Mike's home page. Before I flip on the switch to the airbrush, I want to be reasonably sure that this is the color of 4395. Any thoughts?
Bud

Judging by the pictures I've seen, I went for clear doped linen. Here's a couple of pictures of my 1/5th scale model of the same aircraft:

Bit greener than Arabia I know but.............

Very nice, Breguet! I hope you don't actually subject that beauty to the harsh realities of gravity.

Like a Be2c - slightly under-powered and very stable.

Indeed a beautiful aircraft, and well constructed. You can see a few more pics of her here...

ADRIAN HELLWIG'S BE2c

There used to be a short clip on our website, but it has been removed (due to space constraints I believe).

This is from YouTube...

Well done, mate
