Thanks for the clarification, DJ. Also, got your message. We'll talk soon.
Seems to me from your description that if I put extra ear on the brass rocker, shown on the plans, at the hinge line for servo connection, this should work. However, I have to figure out how to mount servo to get 4-40 rod between the two ribs. Use two bends in the rod and a slot? I'd be concerned about loads.

Top wing is now glued up with exception of aileron LE and ribs.

I almost passed out at the price of the spinner from Arizona!

Thanks

Joe

Aileron Control

Duncan Hutson's book "Scale Construction" has a section on this type of control (spoiler) with some drawings that might be helpful.

DJ,
Do you think this modification would be doable (with a reasonable amount of ease) on your 1/4 scale Albi short kit? And if so, would you recommend a metal geared servo here as well?

What size spinner does the 1/3rd scale take? I've got an Albie spinner that is too big for 1/4 scale.

1/3 scale takes 8" spinner that is rather flat (shallow dish)

Mike, That would be no problem. I did the same on a Proctor DV I was helping a friend with. Just make sure it has a slim profile that will fit in the airfoil. Doesn't need a ton of torque but it needs to stand up to flutter.

Hmmm.... I dug through my attic and found the spinner in question. Too big for 1/4th and too small for 1/3, also SHALLOWER then an Albatros spinner. I think that perhaps I have a 1/4 Siemens-Shuckert spinner on my hands. One of the reasons I no longer deal with AZM.
