Cool Lets see your WWI planes on FLOATS!!!

Now for something different. How about pictures of your WWI planes on floats? Here is my 80" Balsa USA Eindecker on floats based on the Proctor Antic design. They are white foam with a plywood rib and covered in fiberglass. Takeoffs are straight and easy. The tail dragger design doesnt need a water rudder (the rear float is mounted static, it doesnt turn with the rudder and still it works great). Its and excellent floatplane.

Those are amazing, Prop nut... Keep up the good work.
Now why is it that I can see those pics, but none of the photos that Winterhawk took of the fly-in? (Probably internal settings that I can't fiddle with @ work) Oh well,

Thumbs up

Pretty cool, Propnut!

It's good to know that type of float setup works well. I have a set of plans for a 1/4 scale Sopwith Baby that has floats, and they look just like those. I'll have to seriously think about building it now!

Thanks for sharing!

Jim

Are you interested in buying a really nice Sopwith Baby? A fellow flier passed away a couple of weeks ago. His widow is putting all his planes up for sale. I dont have a price on this one yet but its very nice. Its 1/4 scale built from a kitbashed Balsa USA Sopwith Pup. Nick had the plans for the Baby and it is built to those using the parts from the Pup kit. Power is a G26 and it flies great. Nick had this on display at Dayton Dawn Patrol '05, along with an Antoinette (spelling?) that his brother built. It had many flights that weekend.

It's something to think about. I also know somebody else who might be interested. He's really into float planes and has been trying to get me into it too.
