And that was all it needed; it is very stable, no bad habits at all, flying true and straight hands off - as Frank said, the right model for any intermediate flyer.

The idle was set a little too high so we had to wait until the fuel tank was drained before we could get it down again. And flying on idle the whole time it took 25 minutes to do that. The engine cut off just as Frank had approached the field, which was great timing, and he put it down very nicely with dead stick. One for the school books! Unfortunately the breaks locked after a few meters and it flipped over onto its back, but with no damage al all.

The verdict: a great Sunday flyer with no extra long setting up time at the field. The engine is absolutely adequate. Frank would like to add a few grammes up front to shift the CoG further forward, and we need to set tick-over a little lower for 'Controlled landings'.

Note the ice that had built up on the spreader bar.
The only quibble would be the quality of the flying shots. I've been talking to our local photographer about getting some pro-shots done. Maybe later some time.

Was the ice the culprit? Did it cause the wheels to lock-up and the eventual nose over?

Fantastic! Great looking in the air. Looks very cold there with the frost on the grass. Ah, the joys of winter flying.

Great to see her finally in the air! Looks terrific and I bet it sounds good too.

Many congrats! To go all the way from the design to having the prototype flying is always no mean achievement.

I was looking at your exhaust set up. Did you drill a drain hole in the header before it turns up? It would seem to collect fuel and oil other wise.

Nice plane.
