Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome RC Jamboree 2007 photos

Anyone interested in seeing my Rhinebeck photos from the RC meet? I took about 300 photos.

Hmm...Seems that I took all of the photos in too large a format to post here. I'll post them in my FLICKR album tonight and post a link to the album here. I have some EV/DVIII photos on it now un=der the name Mike K USA.

It was awesome. There was a builder, a craftsman/artist really, that had a scratchbuilt plane as well as rotary engine. Simply amazing.

Check back here later this evening for photos.

Here's the link: Mike K USA's photosets on Flickr

There's about 80 more but I've reached my upload limit.

Enjoy,

Thanks!

Mike,
Some great pictures--thanks for sharing. I haven't been to Rhinebeck in quite a while, so it's great to see the fantastic models that are coming now. The 1/2 scale E.V was a real sight. Tom Kosewski is a great modeler--can't wait to see that one flying!

Thank you all. I'll post the rest when I cna get them on the site. Perhaps I'll delete some of the redundant photos so that I can load the rest.

I've just ordered a new camera, a Canon 3S IS. Apparently a very good point and shoot camera. Funny thing is that it costs about the same as my old P&S (purchased about 4 1/2 years ago) and is so far advanced it's amazing. I'll be using it to take photos this weekend at the NEAT Fair. That's an all electric meet in Shinhopple, NY. Hope the camera arrives by then. I'll post the WWI types here.

Mike

PS- Lyle, that EV was something to behold. I've never seen an RC model built in such a manner. Were you able to appreciate the lozenge fabric scrap used to wrap the longerons? If not let me know and I'll look for and email you the individual pics. Simply amazing.

Thanks for Stopping By to See Us

Thanks to all who stopped at the World War I Aero/Skyways booth at the Rhinebeck Jamboree. It was a real pleasure to talk with you.

I'm attaching a couple of shots of a truly unique project, a 1914 Howard Huntington "Clam" by Don Peters of Kingston, New York. Mr. Peters is a real build-it-from-scratch modeler; it was fascinating to learn from him how he made those curved spars. The Clam showed itself to be a very capable flyer.

Can hardly wait to see the pics. After our conversation I started thinking about Dayton '09. As soon as I know the dates I'm putting them on the calendar. Passed by on the way to the USGP in Indy but never had the chance to stop in.
