Thumbs up

Looking forward to seeing her finished in all her colors, any chance you going to Rhinebeck, NY this year?

I would love to get over to Rhinebeck sometime but this summer I will be in Germany from June thru August.

Thanks for the kind words. I had hoped to fly it today but the weather is not cooperating. Too windy, with rain.

David, I believe the Rhinebeck meet is in September if that makes a difference. I am going to try to be there but I'll have to see where gasoline prices are by then

It will take me at least a year to recoup from the cost of spending the summer in Europe. I will be at the Hoosier Dawn Patrol in Muncie but all other U.S. trips are on hold for a year or...maybe more, sheesh did I pick the wrong time to go to Europe. The Dollar is in the tank compared to the Euro.

Thanks Graham.

It looks like the Tripe will be gaining some weight. I rechecked the CG and I had to move it forward about an inch. That inch will cost me 4.5lbs!!! Ouch. THey flying weight is up to 33.5lbs. Course, I havent flown it yet and I might be able to remove some of that weight, I would rather fly it nose heavy than tail heavy the first time.

I think 33lbs sounds right for a 1/3 scale with three wings if you can go buy what others like Del's DR1 weigh and many D VII's too.

Tripe

I really like your braces on struts. What did you use, Aluminum?

What did Del's Fokker weigh in at, does anyone remember?

I had hoped to have a final-final flying weight of under 35lbs but after I add a cockpit, machine gun and paint I am sure it will be around 37lbs or so.

Do you mean on the tail? I used 4-40 threaded rod (dubro I think) with a z-bend on one end and a Dubro Quick-link on the other end (so I could adjust them) the quick-links have a lock nut system that I like.
