David (the big guy) also had a really nice 1/3 scale Sopwith Tripe (scratch built. Unfortunately, it was damaged in a forced landing Thursday evening and didn't fly during the event. That's Del Johnson (deljon) with David. That's David's 1/4 scale DVII and Pup there too.

Dave Johnson (DJ) on the left supervises Billy Thompson making repairs to his Pup's wing tip and aileron. During a dogfight between Billy's 1/3 scale Pup and Dave's 1/3 scale DVa, Dave's prop chopped through Billy's wing tip. Yikes! DJ claimed that Billy brought out the worst in him. It could have been the end for both of those beautiful birds.
