Hey John,
Glad to hear things are better for you, it sounds a bit like cellulitis. I am very much impressed with your wing and its size, it should have enough square footage. Of course we all hope it's a good flyer! But it's a fine looking plane as it is and we appreciate your contributions here--
Hope to see you at some fly in one of these days
Best, Lyle

Hey Lyle, Cellulitis is one of the stages I guess. It was pretty ugly. Still have to see a vascular guy. I hate using my free time to run around to doctors but If I don't I won't be running around at all. Hope it gets off the ground soon.

Hi John,
Glad to hear that things are better for you now. I look forward to seeing you and your Aviatik at Rhinebeck this year. It's an impressive build. and I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you there.

Where, out west?
Hi John:
Where are you going out west? I live out west, I live in Ceres, Cailfornia, it is in the Central Valley about 90 miles due east of San Francisco. Hi way 99 goes right through Ceres. If you are in hollering distance, drop by, I'll treat you to a good glass of wine, this is wine counrty. Next door to us is Modesto, the headquarters of the Gallo Wine Company, It is the biggest in the USA. If you are going to be flying your planes near here, let me know and I'll come and watch. Besdes Patti says I don't go out enough!
Best to you John and Blue skies,
Dan-San

Vern, I'll see ya at Rhinebeck then. Dan-San, I'd love to take you up on the glass of wine some time. This trip will be to Santa Fe New Mexico and Arizona to visit family and friends. No models just some R&R. My wife and I are looking for places we might consider retiring to eventually. Do you get earth quakes and those terrible fires where you are?

I've just started to post on Aerodrome RC when I found this one:
AerodromeRC Forum - Aviatik 30.40 Build
Bert has done some of the instructions & builds for Kay & Kurt also. I figured the two of you might have some ideas for one another.

Hi Jim, He has a nice little model there. Hopefully he'll look at my build before he paints his and discover the true colors. I don't want to start posting on yet another web site. The color profile he is looking at is incorrect and was corrected in this Windsock Datafile Fabric Special.

Thanks, John, I'll pass this on to Bert. He's out for the next week but I'm sure he'll take a look and maybe PM you.

Aviatik
Well, Today is the first day in three weeks that I have spent time on the Aviatik. Still nursing my foot although it is way better. Just don't want another occurrence. Lots of family stuff popping up. So, I finally finished the elevator control horns which was preventing me from painting the elevator. I also, got the tail skid done with the exception of a strap that will close the bungee slot. Started the cockpit combing, finished the foot step too. Here's a photo of how the tail skid bungee is hooked up on the Aviatik D1. It was used the same way on the 30.40.

Well I have got a lot done but I seem to have a knack for underestimating the amount of work I have left to do. I finished up the l/g and got the 30.40 painted on as you can see. I was considering using the clover marking but I decided to keep it in line with the photo's I have. I made a stencil out of self sticking, clear shelving stuff. This took a bit of time. The biggest thing left to do is to finish the ailerons. Everything else is small details.
