She's looking fine, John! Going to be good to see her all together & in the air. Bert, over on aerodromerc, read through your log & has decided that this coloration is accurate based off your research. His 1/10th will sport your coloration when he gets there.
It would be cool, maybe not possible though, to get the two machines together for a photo op.

Well, what can I say? Not gonna get to Rhinebeck this year. Not to make excuses but one of my best friends son will be home from his first tour in Afghanistan and I have to be here for him. I will be going to the Warbirds over Jersey event at the Mercer County R/C club next weekend however. The Aviatik will be much closer to finished then also. Wanted to see how she looks all put together so here are a couple of pics. I am playing around with the static prop and will be making a scale prop hub.
Hope those of you making it to Rhinebeck have good weather and good flying.

Last year it was a little cooler than the average. During the day it was in the 50's. Friday no clouds and fair winds and comfortable. Saturday, cloudy, winds down the runway, but a little cooler due to no sun. Several pilots and crews spent a fair bit of time in Mac's (Hodges) hobby shop. Mac seemed to like that just fine .
According the the weather data, average highs for those days is in the low 60's.
If you haven't gone to the Hodges Hobby webite and looked at field photos, check it out. Its a great place to fly. There is a link from the SDP website.

Thanks Dan-San, that is a great compliment coming from you and I am glad you are pleased with the results. It's not perfect but I think it came out pretty good. My foot has pretty much recovered and no signs of a repeat. I will continue to be careful. Cheers.

Needed to see how she balance's and how much she weighs. Balance will be fine but I am not happy with the weight. The fuselage as it hangs from the scale is 25lbs. this includes all radio stuff, engine and batteries. It could use some more nose weight but with the wing on and 32oz of fuel I think it will be okay. Total weight will be around 30lbs.
