Nothing new to really show as I am finishing up small things. For the record I discovered my scale was reading 8 lbs heavy! I fixed it and weighed the Fuselage again and it only weighs 18 lbs. not 25 lbs. I am now feeling much better about the power available from the 40cc, B&S, 4-stroke. I believe the total weight will be around 25 lbs. not 30 lbs. More photo's in a couple of days.

Hey John, love the pictures of her all together. She really stands high! Looks higher then a EV, may just be an illusion.
You surly picked a great subject and did a wonderful job. Stay healthy.
Cheers.

A few pics of things I have finished. I am using a new Dubro EZ fueler for gas and glow and it will be hidden in the hole in the cowl. The battery box holds two 2400 mah, rechargeable AA batteries wired in parallel to give a constant 1.2 volts. You can see where I am hidding the switch. Last the finished cockpit combing. I'll be doing some more prop/thrust testing soon to see if I can go to a 23x10 or 24x8 prop. right now the 22x8 works pretty good on the bench.

Hey John,
Good to see you posting again. I wanted to ask about that tube you're using for engine exhaust, is that something from Mick Reeves or some specialist place? I've seen stuff like that in Home Depot for plumbing or electrical but wondered if that stuff could be used with some mods.
I'm starting a new D.VII and the model will have an early exhaust, so hence the reason for my long-winded question!
Later, Lyle

Hi Lyle, go here, /www.bennettbuilt.com/bbtable.htm and you will find the bendy pipe. The header I had custom made by a guy in Canada. Hope to see you posting your D VII build soon.

Hey John,
That was exactly what was needed, thanks for the link. He has so much good stuff for gas. Wish I knew about him when I built the first D.VII. Just got the wood today, will start up soon. It's going to be an early OAW Fokker, color scheme not yet settled!
Sorry to hijak your thread!

John, just a little model. The plans are for an 88" span model, quarter scale. I got the plans from MAN and it's designed by Gary Allen. The semi-kit was cut by Lazer Works out in Texas. The box smells like a house fire, though! Lots of scorching on the plywood but it's fine otherwise. Will be using a G-38 again, love that engine. Just have to buy it, that's the tricky part. Not to mention the radio, too. But considering how fast I build, it will be a while before I need any of that.
I want a fancy Futaba radio....one of them thar FASST ones, I think.
