Hey Doc, where can one find pics etc. of your build? Sounds like a great project.

I always throw out the kit wing tips and rudder outline strips and replace them with laminated substitutes. They're soooooo much stronger.

Post a few shots for us..........John

John, I'm a computer dummy on a dial up net connection. A, I dont know how to post pics and B, the time required would probably be as exciting as listening to paint dry. Doc.

A little more progress. Elevator almost done. Still have to make the elevator control horns which will be the same as the rudder. The GTM hinges are done. Silver soldered the center brass tube to the steel straps. The collars will be CA'd and then pinned. Made the 1/64 ply veneer facing for the instrument panel and ammo. box. Hope to get the elevator finished tomorrow.

Yesterday was window cleaning and Christmas decorating day with my wife but I did manage to get the elevator glued together and all the GTM hinges drilled and pinned. Still some sanding to do and have to make the control horns.

Well, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. Have to put my tools down until after the holidays now. Got the fin and rudder covered. Still have to finish the control horns. Started playing around with the Schwarzlose guns. The drawing is from the Arizona Models web site. Cheers.

Hi Dale, Yeah the Austrians used this gun on most of their aircraft including Albatros. They do look wierd with the cooling water jacket removed. Happy holidays to ya. BTW, nice tree!

I am in the process of putting the fabric (Solartex) on the stab and elevator. I'll post some pics later today.
