Vern,
Sorry, to hear this, but I recommend you start building another set of wings, but please, don't put in all those hours and hours of details. You need to get this thing flying. Check your bi-plane, aerodynamic cord location; Check your cg; Do a static pull test to check thrust.
It's time to forget all the scale details and think about getting this bird in the air.
Thanks,
Jan

Thanks Jan,

I agree. The focus will be to lighten it up and build two new wings. Back to work!

Thanks ZZ, for your encouragement. I've continued to discuss the flight with friends who had helped that day to incorporate improvements and I'm actively working on the fuselage lightening effort and recalculating the CG. I don't seem to be able to crank out 3/4 of a fuselage and three wing panels a night the way some of the supercraftsmen do out there! It seems working, eating and sleeping get in my way.

Best to you,

Vern

Thanks Jim,

I appreciate your comments - I'm pleased to say that the reconstruction of the wings and reworking of the fuse tail is already well underway. In a way, I'm glad that it all didn't happen a month ago or I'd feel the pressure to get it all back together in time for Rhinebeck. As it is, we'll head out tomorrow for the Aerodrome without the plane and spend the weekend gawking at all the other wonderful projects!

Regards,

Vern
