I just weighted my fin and rudder and even though I have to still trim off some of the tubing it only comes to 7 oz. I figure will drop off abt 1/2 oz by the time I trim it up and then add the 1/2 oz back with the control horn and couple small parts yet to add.

So I figure that 7 1/2 oz will be finished weight overall on it.

I will be having the alum control horns water jetted as Jaime has to get some stuff jetted soon and said he will have them just cut that out at same time. I will then slot the 1/2 dia tube on the rudder mix up some metl weld and slide the horn into the rudderpost welding it on with metl weld

wont get too much done today as meds have me groggy lol so i imagine ill be pretty lazy sleeping on and off today. since feeling better stopped the meds now just wait for effects to wear off

Ok guys daughter in law finally got out of hospital so I started on the fuse. I didn't like the way the wing spars were coming out so I am thinking on the subject and figuring out a jig so I can build them square as even with walls inside they kept coming out cockeyed

So I have to send Jaime my fuse parts to cut this evening. I started the laminations for the fuse which will create a Mortise and Tenon joints which will make it really strong.

As you can see I used my trusty shelf brackets as a guide here. The top of the fuse is astraight line so this allows me to use the brackets the full length as a backing. This also means I only have to trim one side of the uprights.

After I got the top and bottom strips layed out, I just small finishing nails like used on trim work to create a nice jig.

Then because the top is straight it makes it super easy for even the novice to mark out their uprights.

Step 1: Butt the top of a strip for your upright against the top longeron.

Step 2: Be sure and slide the other half of the upright UNDER the bottom longeron.

then take a fine point pencil and scribe your line on the inside edgeof the Longeron and just cut to the outside of it til the linedisapears and you will have a nice tight fit.
