Yes they work. It also drops bombs. There is a thread under scale models at RCG and a video of the gear working in their video section.

Dave, these look great(being as its my first time out of the shodows here I'll grany you artistic licenses on the markings of "F-6-F"). Being a Naval Air Enthusist I love anything on the subject. Unfortunately my R/C days ended long ago when I got married.

Wonderful job Dave! Did you use your Albatros Fuselage building technique to build the F3F?
ckingh5, What would being married have to do with having to give up the hobby? My wife has always been very supportive of my hobbies! I guess I need to be extremely thankful for this. However, it probably would have ended in divorce, had she not been at least tolerant of my interests!

Actually, it had more to do with money than support for the hobbythough that has something to do with it also. Mine has been a single income household, which is tough to do these days especially with 4 kids. I was introduced to R/C by a college buddy. He and I were were a mutual support group during our bachelor days. Mostly we built watercraft but some aircraft. About the time I got married he got a job out of town it tough to get together for a build when you are 400 miles apart. I've been building plastic scale models since I was a kid and still do but my now ex-wife did little more tolerate my hobbies and she never....STOP!!!... sorry had to do an intervention there, this is not the "Bash the Ex" web site. Any way I've probably done more model building in the past 18 months than I managed in 22 years of married life. So, YES, Mode One, be very greatful for you spouse's love and support, so put down the glue and paint and spend this Sunday being her valentine.

Will do ckingh5! Yes, you do need to pay attention to them! Like you, I've built models of all kinds over my almost 60 years. My wife comes from a farming background and likely had little free time to do any hobbies. However, I guess she understood that people are diverse in their interests and we need to be supportive of this.
Now, back to the F3Fs!

Yeah, the F-6-F is made up. Just was easier registering the decals for two models. besides, it is only 26" and built for amusement.
