Jagdgeschwader 1 is currently recruiting new pilots.

If interested, stop by our website and read about us. You can fill out an application form on-line at (look under recruitment):

http://richthofen.jagdgeschwader1.com/jg1.html

JG1 was founded in 1992, and consists of Jastas 4,6,10, and 11. Each Jasta has its own proud history, paints, and traditions. We emphasize teamwork and team flying.

JG1 uses the Flanders in Flames modified Flight Model, Damage Model and planes not found in the original RB game. Participants in FIF believe it has a much more "realistic" FM and DM! The FM is much more difficult than the original RB and the DM is less forgiving of heavy handling.

More info on FIF can be found at:

http://forums.delphiforums.com/fiffer

and the patches and rules at:

http://fif.sqhq.net/flanders/Flanders_files/finf8.html

If interested in participating, then download the patch and give it a try. Ask questions if you have difficulties at the Delphi or JG1 forums! If you try the FM and want to fly with others between war sessions then ask for the FIF Island Server password and someone will give it to you.

I would really like to have a bash at this sort of on-line game, BUT it is so dammed difficult to someone like myself who hasn't got a clue how to download a 'patch' I mean what on earth does a 'windows explorer' button look like? no, seriously!

Best of luck recruiting .Please make things easier for us non computer people

S! Yeoman,

No fear, Flanders in Flames is a one patch install, not difficult at all. We'd walk you through the whole process.
You do need to have Red Baron 3D though!

Come and join JG1 and relive the Great War in the air in a series of tournaments which will take you from the Fokker scourge when Eindekkers ruled the skies up to the bitter end in November 1918 when The first German Air Force had to hand over their planes to the Allied authorities. Start your career as a Flieger and receive promotions in rank as you accumulate victories and perform acts of valor. You will be awarded medals in recognition of your bravery and gallantry. We fight with the highest ideals of chivalry, honor, courage and respect. We all love this era and try to recreate history by developing historically accurate Flight and Damage models and ultrarealistic war scenarios.

S!

We fly a modified flight model, which is more realistic than the normal RB FM. We use the one kill a night rule, so when you're dead, you're dead for the night.
We only use visual chat, which means you have to be in visual range to communicate with any other pilot.
So it's more realistic than flying in "normal" RB mode.
