Just a quick note to let folks know that Aspect Simulations has updated their website. The Team page shows the people that have joined the team and in the KOE section there are 28 new screen shots.

The Aspect Simulations website address is:

Keep watching the website. We hope to put up more development and game screen shots in the near future. You'll have to do your own detective work

Hi,
This is one sim I have been waiting for.......and waiting for.... Since Oleg at Maddox wont do a WWI sim or add-on and WWW seems to be stalled, KOE has been on my radar for some time now.

The site is down right now Maybe it will be up later.

Speaking of the web site, why is there no message board for KOE? Thats the best way to stay in touch with your target audience.

Best of luck.

The files for the website have been transfered to a new server. I was told it can take a few hours for things to sort themselves out over the internet. The hope is that everything will be back in good working order very soon.

I have no answer for your second question. Good point though.

I had no problem getting in Xeidos2! Wonderful news, all the more reason for me to upgrade this old PII 400MHz. I've already punched the memory and video card as far as the system will allow (Win98 2nd Ed.; 512 MB RAM and 32-MB ATI-card). The wife, sweet thang she is, gave me the go ahead when the tax refund returns. Any recommendations from you hard time simmers. So far I like the Vector Velocity and new HP a550e systems for affordibility. From pricing all, they're 300 yankee dolars less than a DELL equipped the same, which is with either a P4 2.6 or AMD 64, 1024 MB SDRAM, and a 256-MB NVidia card. My ears are open to any suggestions or other directions to look.

Can't wait for KOE and Project Mercury looks promising too, I was in my gung-ho teen years when all that happened. Never skipped a day of school in my life until Alan Shepard went up. Didn't feign sickness either, told my mom and pop I was stayin' home for the space shot. My 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth White, gave me an A+ for the write up I turned in the next day, she wanted to stay home and see it too!

Just viewed the update and its about time.

The models look nice but the sky and clouds don't look that nice. =( The terrain needs a little work also. Didn't really care for the transition at the front.

I understand that this is in development but I sure hope they fix these things especially since they claim to have a 4 th quarter release date Like that date will stick..

After IL2, I believe my opinion has been soiled

Seriously though,
I would be interested in more info on the game. There isn't much in the way of serious info on the KOE web site.

What about multi player? Will there be a serious single player campaign? What are the system specs? What is the plane set? Can the planes be textured? Will the bombers be flyable and multi crewed online.

What exactly is a "high fidelity" flight model??

I could go on but I know these items appear to be yet resolved. The flight sim community is a tough crowd to please so I hope the game is more than arcade eye candy.

BTW, I liked the some of the damage modeling.

Best of luck KOE staff.

Thanks for the update. You have a whole community of folks waiting for this release. I flew Red Baron 3D for years and can't wait for a new WW1 flight sim.

In the mean time I will stick it out in the trenches playing the new Battlefield 1918 mod online, flying my "arcade" Spad shooting at live Huns running around on the ground.

If any of you play FPS games like Battlefield 1942, check out BF1918. It is a mod for BF1942 and to my knowledge it is the only WW1 FPS game out.
