well... I think my record for victories was 357 in 80 missions (80 missions appears to be the standard length for a career).
um, I think the highest score was 700 points (or so) on a balloon busting mission where I flamed Fonck, Nungesser, 3 ballons AND hunted all over the front-lines in search of locomotives (if you blow up a locomotive you add 100 points to your score).
there was one time where I fought a one-vs-one duel with
Werner Voss and blew up two German trains and managed to score 500 points or so for it... so remember that if you're interested in padding your score.
one of my personal favorites was a fellow called Alexander Shokov, who NEVER lost a weekend. he started at the beginning of the war, and ended up dying in a collision with a German Fokker D.VII trying to rescue a wingman.
one really keen thing about the original Red Baron is that you could replay missions on the mission recorder and learn from your mistakes. I remember practicing one-vs-four engagements all the time. and at the height of my obscene Red Baron playing ability... I flamed a flight of 4 Spad XIIIs in one head-on pass.
one really cool trick is to put Allied aces in the Bristol Fighter F2b and make single missions... it gives you a much better idea of what it would be like to fight those things... I was really disappointed that Red Baron II/3d didn't have something at least THAT difficult for two-seaters.
