Forumites,
There is going to be a Red Baron 3D LAN party at the Dawn Patrol event up at Dayton this Fall. I rec'd the following through e-mail:
"As some of you may already know, we have moved the "Aces Over Wright Field" event to the Ramada Limited & Suites for all 3 days of the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous. The following was posted this evening at wings-of-valor.net;
"Your "Aces" team now has a new name, and a new web site. The name of the group is now "Virtual Aces" and the permanent home page for the VA is;
www.virtualaces.net
The group will be hosting "Aces Over Wright Field" at the Ramada Limited & Suites, Fairborn, Ohio from September 30, through October 2, 2005 to coincide with the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous so that you will be able to enjoy the museum, the airshow, and "AcesOver Wright Field" throughout the weekend. There is a block of rooms at the Ramada Limited & Suites so when making your reservations be sure to tell them that you are with the Aces/Dawn Patrol group.
Murph is working on putting together some seminars for things like installing modified FM's and running a server, and he is also putting together some contests. We would really like to be able to present every flavor of RB3D available during the event so that people can try various patches such as "Hell's Angels", for example. Murph is also working on a list of area attractions for the web site. It also looks like the Monkey himself will be on hand to conduct everyone's favorite at the LAN party: The Monkey Island Tournaments.
If any squadron or group would like to have a reception or hold a seminar please feel free to contact us. I'm sure that we can arrange something for you at little or no cost.
We are also invited to the Dawn Patrol Banquet held at the National Museum of the United States Air Force for all of the participants of the Dawn Patrol Rendezvous itself and I believe that we will all be treated to the IMAX movie, "Operation Red Flag". If you plan to go to dinner at the museum on Saturday night, or you plan to bring your computer to participate in the LAN party as part of the network, please be sure to fill out your registration before August 1, 2005.
Submitting the registration form does nothing more than e-mail the infomation to me in a format that is easily recognized so that I can tabulate them, submit our registrations to the museum for dinner, and plan for the number of volunteers that we will have with computers. The cost for dinner at the museum is $15.00 per person, and it is to be paid to the museum directly, so no credit card or payment information will be required.
Please see the new web site for more details, or e-mail any one of us if you have a question, a suggestion, or a request.
