WW I shootergame in the trenches ?

Hi,

A bit tired of the WW I games such as WOW, Red Baron, etc, I was wondering if there exist any games for PC, preferably a shooter game in the trenches or underground. Any hints ?

Thanks and best from Johan

I have never heard of a WWI game in the trenches or in underground mode.

Johan,

I too was wondering this for a while (havn't played anything in a few years but for a time I was really into it) - unfortunately there aren't any real first person WWI games out there.

Something that comes sort of close is Day of Defeat a mod for Half-Life. Although it is a WWII game, some of the online levels such as Omaha - ie once you get off the beach - become somewhat Trench/WWI like.

not much help I'm afraid

There is a mod for Battlefield 1942 called Battlefield 1918. For Call of Duty is a mod in works called The Great War. I haven't Battlefield 1918 and The Great War is still being made I think.

There is a mod for Half-Life called "The Trences" and it's a WW1 infantry game.
It's still a beta and pretty uncomplete (few maps, few soldier classes, few weapons and so) but it's fine, sometimes i play it.
It's for online game only, like Day of Defeat, no singleplayer.
It's free for download, just Half-Life/Steam platform installed with relative CDkey is required.
Here's the link for the official webpage : http://www.thetrenches.net/

Does anyone know where to download BF1918 from then? I see from the link V2.0 will be released at the end of April but could not see an obvious download link.
