Here's the condensed version of what happened. And what happens next.

Even though we had met all contract obligations up to March 2004, the publisher, Destineer, broke their contract with Aspect Simulations and all work on KOE stopped. Take Two had a strong position of influence over the decisions made at Destineer. A few months later Take Two, through it's company The Gathering, released Wings of War.

Aspect Simulations is dissolved. Two of it's former members start work on "Project A" Once Project A is completed it will be sold over the internet. With the proceeds from Project A, the two will go back and take the assets developed for KOE and come out with a WW1 flight sim. It will be on a smaller scale than the original plans for KOE because of limited resources. The focus will be on quality over quantity.

Thanks for that synopsis John!

Btw, I'm ordering Project A as soon as it goes on sale, and will gladly enjoy the fact that not only will I get something to play for my purchase (I assume), but really like the idea that my contribution represents seed money towards the eventual development of KOE's progeny.

It's almost a two-for!

Hi FlyXWire,

Thanks for your support. All of the different parts that go into a game are starting to come together for Project A. Still not enough for the release of screen shots just yet, but we're getting closer. Personally I can hardly wait until we take the wraps off and let everyone know what we've been up to for the last year.

We'll be selling the game ourselves, probably through our own website, and probably through a few websites that are about the subject that Project A is based on. The costs will be similar to that of Wings of War. You can be sure that I'll be coming on this forum and a few others to let everyone know when we're ready. From the very beginning we've also been planning an add-on or two. So I'm going to be very busy from now on
