Hey, guys.

OFF is fantastic, IMO. Only going to get better, too, which is fantasticker.

Any plans to release an FE2b or d?

CFS3 curiousity......

Howdy fellas,

Newbie here Rather than take any of your valuable time yakkin' about things you already know full well, allow me to get to the point....

I have been looking for a WWI flight sim that is somewhat along the lines of BF42 in physics and dynamics. Not having experience with flight sims in general {mostly because of my own pre-concieved comparisons to 'driving' games}, I was looking for a game that was more squadron, or mission-based in application, rather then the standard 'run-and-gun'.
From the wee bit of info I have regarding the playability of the Microsoft flight sim titles, I was wondering if there are indeed 'squadrons', or teams out there who play regularly?

Any and all help for this "newbie" would be greatly appreciated

Tread.

CFS3 Multiplayer

For the most part, CFS3 has been a single player advernture. Mainly for the following reasons.

1. CFS3 damage models had some mistakes in them when the game was shipped. Different people solved this different ways, but when the original game files are changed, the multiplayer coding wont allow a person access to a server if his files are different from that of the server.

2. CFS3 at least for the first couple of years, was a real drain on your computers resources (i.e. CPU, GPU). This seemed to go double for multiplayer.

3. CFS3 filght dynamics, seemed to really disadvantage some of the axis airplanes, like the BF109 and FW190, while giving a serious advantage to several allied planes, like the Spits. These have been fixed by various people, but again if you dont have the original game files, then a multiplayer server may deny access.

The new addon WWI game OFF, seems to be trying to bring back multiplayer. First, by trying to insure, everyone is playing with the same game files. If sucessful, then on-line squadrons should follow.

Does anyone know if its possible to view( & take screenshoots) of the other aircraft in the actions?Other than the aircraft one happens to be flying...I've tried different combinations of keys with no luck...Anyone have any idea what this takes?

I think it's possible if you use the TAC to select a target and then you can view the scene from this selected target.
However I don't remember the key combination. You should probably ask this question at SOH (or download the key charts - I know for sure there's one at Simviation)

James:

I've never really tried to get this to work and am new to CFS3, but some commands in my chart are:
First use the Chase View toggle ctrl + F4, then use Tab for ChaseView next aircraft, or use Shft+Tab for ChaseView previous target. I would assume you have to have the tactical display on (shft+T) and would have to have an airplane selected by using the Tab key, before trying the Chase views.
