Btw, is it just me, or do these previews look as if directional lighting is now enabled?

Are these in the actual game rendering system or are they rendered in a 3D rendering app? I thought these model preview pics were created in a rendering application such as 3DS Max. Specular does appear to have been switched on in these pics.

Nice pics, love the snipe again superb textures - the artists are excellent.

The Biff I think has gone a little too far wth the texturing/weathering? I prefer Robby88's even with only basic texture. But I'm being picky, all superb.

Hi guys,

Well although I like the "GT" weathering style, the Snipe could be considered a bit overdone, taking in the short-service life the type was actually involved in combat before the Armistice.......this one looks like it would have been a veteran campaigner from back in the summer of '18 (still, I bet it looks real good in-game).

Rob, VikS mentioned one "metal" property as being enabled in the recent development shots here, whatever that may be......the cowls do seem to shine nicely.

My Gallery
One of the challenges facing a texture artist when making textures for aircraft is how to handle shadows. They really should be kept to a minimum since an aircraft is one of the few game objects that can be seen at any angle. If a plane has embedded shadows and it looks perfect sitting on the ground, it's look "wrong" when it's in a dogfight and goes inverted.

It looks like the GT team is off to a great start. I hope they get a chance to finish things.

I think there is a high probability that they will finish things... go read the post from Viks on the GT forum on the relationship of the members/backers in this... very refreshing for a change!
