On my old P133 from, if I remember right, March 1997 which was my first PC.
Alos got Steel Panthers and played both for may months exclusively.
Still have it but never got it to run later on newer machines. I thought DP had very nice graphics back then !
Second flying sim was Flying Corps a few months later. Then Red Baron 2.
Then RB got the 3D patch and FC got a gold edition.
For that I got my first 3D card - Voodoo Banshee and a new P200 CPU.
check a site called drivers.com you really don't give much information. if you have intergrated video - the computer came with video circuitry already installed on the mother board - you often have to disable it in BIOS before an added video card will work. sometimes a video board and a mother board with intergrated video will not work together. many years ago my first computer was like that. i installed a diamond voodoo card and even after turning off the on-board video my computer would lock up. sometimes it did it every few minutes, sometimes it was OK for days. i spent almost 30 hours talking to the computer manufacturer and the video card manufacturer before everyone agreed that this was just one of those combinations that would not work. i think you should make sure the card can work for you. if you post some more information, i will see if i can help you any further. is your processor a Pentium 2 or what? how fast is it? how much RAM memory do you have? do you have intergrated video? bear in mind that even if you do get it all to work that you may not have the computer speed or power to play many games, especially some new ones.
Dawn Patrol, Overlord, Navy Strike--all three had an odd graphic card configuration utility. It may only work on DOS. You may also have to configure it to run software or VGA only. I honestly think that the only way to go is to find an old stock 486 with a full DOS install and a decent (1995) graphics card. $20 at Goodwill.
