Notice to King Kong veterans

This might be slightly O/T, but I thought I'd drop in and let the King Kong veterans know that there's now a freeware version of the Helldiver available for FS9 over at the Flightsim.com website.

The visual model is by K.Furuya. It has some of the most detailed figures I've seen in FS9. Hitting Shift+E causes the gunner to rotate and change his sitting position. No word of a Kong model being released.

The other big development is that a freeware record module has been released that allows a "player/flyer" to record a flight and then have it played back as AI traffic. In other words, you can now easily have two different planes on the screen at the same time in the FS9 world.

Hi John
thanks for posting this
That Helldiver model looks pretty darn good.
gunner position here is a little odd, but I guess thats an active thing.
did they include the forward firing browning MGs?
if so...they probably shouldn't

are there more images on-line somewhere?
I went to flightsim.com and tried to find some more info but came up with nothing.

those markings are definitly familiar.
you probably know all this already
but, this scheme depicts a land based naval aircraft.
The carrier based planes had a different scheme that might be interesting.
check out Jim's painting "the Professionals" for reference, I believe the same basic scheme was used on Helldivers:
http://www.theaerodrome.com/photopos...500&ppuser=961

might make a nice skin
maybe add a little dirt/grease/grime as well

Neil who? My first name is John

Here's an image made using the new recorder module that lets you get two aircraft in the sky at the same time.

With jet aircraft things get a little jerky, but with these planes things ran smooth during playback.

The files that came with the model had zero information, except that it was from Japan.

The forward firing machine guns are in the model.

Xeidos - also XaspectSimulations- XKOE - Xproject25

Don't worry about the name mix up. You've got friends and associates all around the world, so it's not surprising that you might get a few names mixed up. Even my folks got the names of me and my brothers mixed up at times.

Here's a link to a short video that I uploaded to the youtube site.

It shows the rotation of the gunner in the Helldiver. There's also a few seconds showing the results of using the recorder module.
