Hello!
Yesterday I rushed with my scooter to the Nexus Editrice shop in Rome where the first two displays of miniatures appeared for the joy of local gamers (and authors):

I stealed one - sort of. On the evening, little celebration dinner on the hills south of the City with my co-author Pier Giorgio and Dario Calě, our landscape artist. Kempf and Olieslager roared over our pasta dishes and around the red wine bottle, astonishing waiters and families at the tables nearby. The air parade went with no accident, apart that I was too eager to squeeze Rickenbacker's SPAD out of the box and I accidentally separated the undercarriage from the fuselage. Nothing that a few little drops of a good glue can't fix, anyway please be more careful than me.
So now I have the minis on my table, here at home. Pretty happy of the final production result, indeed. Little wheels even move over the tablecloth like real ones... Almost. Release of miniatures has been delayed, but I think that it was worth: the level of detail is far better than the one of the first prototypes I got, and the delay allowed for more accurate color schemes. You can even notice the stars on the little wheels of Rickenbacker's SPAD and you can read "Nemo me impune lacessit" at the back of Olieslager's seat (you can read it - I can't, I am a bit too astigmatic). The matt finishing all over the model gives a far better result than the first production trials with glossy decals. Well, they are an industrial product and the scale does not allow too much perfection, but I personally love these little creatures.
But that's obvious. As they say in Neaples, "every cockroach is beautiful to the eyes of his mum".
Anyway, I hope that you like them too. After all, the cover of the little boxes are transparent so you can evaluate them before buying (and on Internet you can find quite several pictures of the little planes).
Happy flights!
Andrea
