Does anyone know, if there will be a third part of red baron? I like red baron 3D and I am waiting for a new game. More historical details, better graphics and so on. Please tell me, if you know anything about that. Thanks on account.

Hello Redbaron,

I doubt that it will ever happen. Dynamix, the company that created Red Baron, was disbanded by its parent company and the staff scattered to other game companies.

Regards,

Funny I actually called the company recently and asked them the same question. Basically they said "They wouldn't tell me one way or the other". Apperently they must have thought I could be some sort of "software spy"....instead of just a WWI Freak. Anyway, I certainly got the feel that at this time - there are no plans to update it.

First of all thanks for your immediate replies. It almost destroyed my hopes but that's reality, anyway. Another question. Is there a graphic patch not only for 3Dfx cards but also for Direct 3d based graphic cards like the Gforce series? Im getting tired of using my old Voodoo card. Setting up a Computer for only one game and after that change it again is annoying. Thanks for your help. You are a great community.

Promise Land put out a new Graphics and etc.... patch that blows away anytin u can imagine for the game. AWSOME is the only thing that can be discribed. New sounds, plane upgrades, terrain, sky, clouds, the worx!!!!

go to www.wings-of-valor.org. thaty is the main place for the Red Baron 3D online community. I am in a squadron online and it is great!!! New enhancements and more makes the game more awsome that right out of the box. Online wars and battles, YOU CANT BEAT IT!!!!

Hello you WWI freaks out there.
It might be that I'm a moron or dumb or something, but I couldn't figure out, where to load down this glidos wrapper. I've visited the sites you told me, but all I could find was a review on that topic. So maybe you could be so friendly to give me some further informations about that. I need that patch or I'll have to commit suicide. Thanks.

Leggy, I did exactly as you suggested and there downloaded and installed the Promised Land patch. No praise is too high. It is now a different game in all respects with graphics, sound and flight model all improved tenfold. Everyboy, install this patch at once!

I also downloaded a couple of additional aircraft but I haven't a clue what to do next.

Wow!!! I am really outdated, I am running a 200 Mhz machine w/a Voodoo 2 card and Beery's super patch 2.0. I never could get CM to work and Beery's patch works with out CM. Any suggestions or should I just stay happy with what I have???? I always had a hard time figuring out what to down load.
Has anybody put together the latest and greatest downloads all in one package instead of downloading 20 different patches and piecing them together? A listing of downloads and order would be very helpful since there is so much out there.
Stephen

Duckman,

Thanks for the rundown on Red Baron stuff. I've been playing for close to five years now and hanging out at the Delphi flight sim forum for just about as long. A few years ago, folks from Dynamix would drop by and contribute to the discussions, argue with us, and listen to our feedback.

I believe that it was the goodwill established then that led to the information exchange between the patch makers and former Red Baron programmers. This, in turn, led to the wonderful patches that we have now. Don't get me wrong, a lot of work was done before then, but some judicious help from one or two of the original programs seemed to have really opened things up.

I've been away from Red Baron for a while, but I'm in the process of downloading the WFP. I have a Glide card, but I haven't installed it in my computer, and may never install it. From what I've seen with the patches that I have, they look pretty good in Direct Draw -- at least good enough for me.

Regards,

Thanks for all the tips guys. I've downloaded and installed, PL, CM11 and WFP base patch and the whole experience is light years better. If I can just impose once more though, once I've downloaded the additional WF patches for 1916, 1917 and 1918, where should I install them?
