Hey Willi when I see your name it brings back memories of the Blue Max. Jeremy Kemp played that role real well.

Willie was nice at first, but then Keatie came along, which made Willie and Bruno fight for her.Theirs one thing I didn't get was what "1903" made Willie shout "We tolerated you because we had to!".Its funny how Bruno and Keatie "mate" with the cat on the bed.

It's Stachel's way of telling Willi he can get the same things that Willi thinks are reserved for the aristocracy -- in this case, Kaeti. And therefore he is every bit Willi's equal, something Willi will never acknowledge. When Stachel is shot down, Willi meets him in the truck with a bottle of his favorite champagne vintage 1903. Later on, the champagne becomes a stand-in for Kaeti when Willi & Bruno speak -- Willi tells Stachel, "you'll find it hard to get". When Stachel presents him with the bottle, Willi knows he's bedded Kaeti just to prove he's Willi's equal in everything -- and so the outburst.

I definitely loved the bridge test with the tripes.
"Where's Willi?" "He was flying too low, he hit the trees!"

One more bit of movie trivia about Jeremy Kemp, he reprised his role as an aristocratic Prussian officer in the 1970s television mini series Winds of War and War and Remembrance. In the character of Brigadier General Armin von Roon, Kemp wears the OKW uniform of the Third Reich -- but if you look closely, he also wears the Pour le Mérite he was awarded in The Blue Max.

I wasn't aware of that Patrick thank you.
I do know he had the cameo in the slapstick "Top Secret" with Val Kilmer as well.
