Dave from what I can see you won't be able to get it looking anymore realistic than that sir. Fantastic job there, just one question, there will be a pilot figure in the cockpit later right? Just wondering?

Hi there Dave !
I' ve been awy for a while and while trying to catch up after probably the darkest episode of my life so far ( lost my Dad ), I've noticed that you have found a worhy replacement for WWW .
I was wondering though what the chances of survival are for this project: true it looks awesome, the planes and the world surrounding them look better than real, but I also remember the aircraft models Nuum did but never will "fly" .
I am not trying to rain on your parade but I was, well... just wondering if this could be the one that finally ends up on my computer .
By the look of it these guys are a couple of steps further in their development than the WWW- project ever wa, so it looks very, very promising
Besides that:glad to be back

Hi Alex,
You certainly have our greatest sympathies with your father's passing (and we're glad you're back).
As far as Knights of the Sky is concerned, the screenshots here show the continuous progress the development team has made towards their ultimate goal of final release. Their vision hasn't wavered, and the creative work on this project moves forward every day.
Starting from the ground up, and then having decided to create their own game engine, the development process has certainly taken longer than the KOTS team anticipated, but they have not lost sight of the endgame.
All we can do is be hopeful that the development process continues to move forward, oh, and that we see a pilot in that Fokker soon.
(btw, aircrews will be fully animated)

(Thanks for your kind words Dave...
It is a sad fact that everyone with, no exception, has to go someday and I take comfort in the fact that he had a rich and full life.)
Back to business...
You have direct contact with the developers of KOTS ?
Just watching the screenshots makes my mouth water and if I understand it correctly they intend to turn this into a stand-alone game and not some sort of mod for an existing game ( hence the development of their own engine?)
Sorry if I ask questions that already have been answered but like I said.. I've been away for some time
What interests me the most is if, and when the Western front will be extended as far as Flanders and if it does , will it give a role to the Aviation Militaire Belge ?
I do realize that i have lots ogf catching up to do but I am working on it

Alex,
Knights of the Sky is a completely original flight simulation title, being developed using its own proprietory game engine, with terrain, sky environments, 3D objects, AI behavior, crew animation routines, damage modeling, weapon animation, gun ballistics, mission editor, single-player scenarios, multi-unit campaigns, and online multiplayer component all being featured and tailored for the WWI combat experience.
The simulation platform is expandable, so new features, 3D content, missions, and supporting code can be added through new modules in the future, so in this respect the game will have legs, and the hope is to have the sim continue to grow in the years after the its initial release.
To see preview videos, screenshots, and print media on KOTS, check out David Calhoun's WWI Air Combat Sims website here:

The features sound great, but Im wondering, will this be on Playstation 2?The game looks like it has ALOT of MB required, something that my PC can't handle.Besides,as far as I know, their isn't that much flight sim's out their,so the game would be the 1st WW1 flight sim to be on a PS2.It can be compatable with both PC "and" PS2.The game looks rockin!!!
P.S. Is their going to be a Fokker parasol,Italian front,Eastern front,Middle east front,flyable 2-seaters,seaplanes,and Zeppelins?!?

Im full of excitement about this!!!But as an amatuer astronomy,Im wondering if their is a realistic night sky that changes with each month and with random shooting stars.I want the feel that Im there,in an open cockpit, looking up at a moonlit night sky and say,"Look,Orions belt!"(But that would mean that you are flying in a winter night since Orion is a winter constellation,BRRRR!!!).The stars would be in their correct position, magnitude(brightness),color, and positions of planets and moon and moon phases.Im not trying to be pushy or anything just inspirating.Shooting stars in random moments would be cool, you can make a wish (I want to win the Pour Le Merite ).
