Computer Gaming advise needed.
I am planning to buy a new computer and would like to equip it with things that I would need for flying sims only.(other than flying sims I don't use a computer for gaming)and I like good visuals and sound. What cards would you guys recommend that I buy for a good flying experience?Would you buy Vista or XP?
Cheers! John.

Local Builder
John,
You sound like me, what I did was go to a local computer shop builder told him what I wanted to do; told him that I had checked the usual online sites for computers and their specs. He can back and said that he would put together a custom built machine for the same or less than anyone online with no frieght; and one year service.
That is the machine I have now along with full surround sound; a forcefeed back joystick and all. Make sure you get a forcefeed back joystick, when you pull the trigger you feel the recoil in the stick. Or if the plane stalls you feel the shudder.
The other nice thing about a local builder; any problems I just take it in to him. So far I have not had a problem. Since I also do a great deal of graphics in Photoshop I also have a great deal of RAM. for manipulating large graphics files.
Just my two cents!. The other nice benefit of the local guy; since I got it all through him; I get head of the line privilage on service calls.
Have a great day!
Ken

Sons do that!
John,
Sons do that it seems. Common phenomena, kids have nor problem spending Dad's money!
As the old arab once said " I am but a river of wealth to my children."
John, may your river never run dry!
Have a great day and keep up the great work!

vista or XP for CFS3
John
I'm looking at getting CFS3 and OFF phase 3, but I have a problem. My new computer can handle the graphics with ease but runs Vista, which is problematic for many games. I have an older PC with XP, but with only basic graphics capabilities. So it runs games, but barely.
Bottomline, are you running CFS3 on XP, or did you get it to work on Vista and if so, how?
Thx,
Greg

With respect to games for sure XP is the way to go... oh well..
and yes OFF3 is not out yet, but that would be my motivation to jump thru the hoops to get MS CFS3 to run with Vista.
best of luck,
Greg
