OOOOOOO.... What Game is this...

It kinda looks like Canvas Eagles or Aerodrome... but both of those use hex based boards... I think...

Curiosity abounds here...

"Canvas Falcons" aka Triplane

Hi. Our game has been extant since 1974. At first we adapted Avalon Hill's Richthofen's War to use the models and 3D flight that the trolleys provide. Not long into this adaptation process, Rocky Russo (mathematician extraordinaire) got interested then involved himself doing physics-generated specs on all the aircraft. He tightened up the concepts, invented the vertical maneuvers (wherein a "pivoting" of the trolley/stand is required to reflect the vertical aspect of turn radius), redid the gun tables, created scenario generation tables, and various other "tweaks". The game has been in print (though in unedited form) for c. 30 years. It has a much better selling version for WW2, Mustangs & Messerschmitts. "Canvas Falcons" includes all the pre WW2 aircombat: Spanish civil war, China (sub period is called "Legion Condor"), and the 1WW (sub period is called "Triplane"). I don't know if Rocky Russo has any more of the last print run: they are rather expensive, as small print runs usually are. And, the real kicker is: we don't have any trolley-stand kits for you to assemble yourself. You can follow the instructions to build your own from scratch (which is what we and others have had to do).
