Sulle Ali del Gioco - Playing at the IAF Museum in Bracciano

From the WoW Discussion Group:
wow_nexus : Wings of War Nexus

Bye,

Andrea

Hi everyone. I know it's such a great distance but I'd like to give
the group this news as well. Next October 19th in Italy we will set up
a Wings of War tournament in a delighful set: the Italian Air Force
Museum near the Bracciano Lake (40 km from Rome). The Museum is a
little nutshell with many interesting pieces, the Francesco Baracca's
SPAD VII for example. Or the Macchi MC 72, with his (more than) 3000
hp engine, built in only ONE piece and that unique plane is there.
Wouldn't it be nice to play with a SPAD VII card just above the real
plane? ^___^ Andrea also will be there as judge in the tournament (and
as a player himself
I paste here also the official press communicate, even if it is
written in Italian.
For whom curious I'm here to translate the part of your interests.

Ciao,
Riccardo

Reindeer Corporation TreEmme Roma (Associazione Ludica) proudly presents:

”Sulle Ali del Gioco 2008” is a gaming event with a “airplanes” inspiration, set in the gorgeous Italian Air Force Museum (MUSAM, “Museo dell’Aeronautica Militare” in Vigna di Valle), near the Bracciano Lake (40 km from Rome - Italy).
The 2008 edition of this free event will last the entire day of October 19th merging game and history.

One of the authors of boardgame “Wings of War”, Andrea Angiolino, will be our guest _and_ will participate as a player himself. Wings of War recreates the atmosphere of first and second World War dogfights (by Andrea Angiolino and Pier Giorgio Paglia, Nexus Games).

The Museum gives the player the opportunity of seeing the real planes of the game.

For informations regarding how to reach the Museum please visit the link Sulle Ali del Gioco 2008 (the page is in Italian, but it contains a link to google maps with instructions easy to follow )

The day schedule is:

10:00 The event begins
10:50 Free guided tour of the Museum (approximately 2 hours)
13:00 Lunch (There’s the chance of booking a lunch at the Military Catering, but it is required to send the booking via email to info@reincorp..it, because of the limited number of seats within Tuesday 14th)
14:00 Gaming attractions begin: Blue MAXI (based on Blue Max by Phil Hall and John Harshman) , Looping Louie (a tabletop game for all ages, well known in Italy with the name Gino Pilotino), Flight simulators, card games, the live roleplaying game "Il Gobbo Maledetto" (by Andrea Angiolino and Gregory Alegi, Ed. Novecento GeC, 2002)
14:00 Beginning of the Painting and Personalizing Wings of War miniatures Contest.
14:30 Wings of War Tournament
17:00 Tournament and Contest will be rewarded by Nexus Games.
18:00 The event closes

Sunday October 19th. Sulle Ali del Gioco 2008

The event is completely free (apart from the lunch at the Military Catering).

Important: a special award will be sorted among people participating to the event: a flight on a Tiger Moth (a double seated biplane,... don’t worry, none would ask you to pilot, there will be an expert pilot at your side!), at the Air Piloting School “Ottocubano” in Campagnano (Roma)

Organization by: Reindeer Corporation TreEmme Roma.

Collaboration by: Museo dell’Aeronautica Vigna di Valle, Nexus Games, Scuola di Volo Ottocubano, Barone Rosso Il Portale del Modellismo in Italia.

For any question, info, contact and for lunch booking: info(at)reincorp.it.
Sulle Ali del Gioco 2008 (only in italian, sorry!)
