Any tips to start playing canvas eagles

Hi All,

I just checked out CanvasEagles this game looks great,I' a big fan of hex games and WW1 aviation so I'am there , this is made for me. I found the site with the rules and parts to start playing ,Im sure I can make my own map I've got the planes, now i just need to play it. If anyone out there has any tips to start teaching myself to play- Easy start methods with easy way to play and as i learn more add in more advanced rules- I find this is the best way to learn.

Cheers and Tally Ho

P.S. Thanks to who ever was talking about it(Canvas Eagles) as you've got me onto something great. Goodonya.

Here are the Planes I just need the time!

I am a big fan of the Blue Max tabletop game. Blue Max is the forerunner of Canvas Eagles. I have the Canvas Eagle rules but i found them to be to detail oriented and slow playing. I do however use their Aircraft maneuver sheets. I have been running games at my local hobby shop for five years now. We fly both the WW1 and WW2 Blue Max Rules. When we started we used 1/72 scale aircraft for both WW1 and WW2 and used the Old mats from Milton Bradley's Battle Masters game. We have since upgraded to a custom vinyl mat that is 4 ft by 12 ft. The mat is printed with an actual aerial photo of a european countryside with a 5 inch hex pattern superimposed over the entire mat. We also have switched to 1/144 scale aircraft for WW2. I use the tried and true Anttena stuck into a five inch base method for my game. If you ask around on the Blue Max/Canvass Eagle site you will get all kinds of different extras to enhance game play. As far as a starting mat look on ebay for a Battle Masters mat. otherwise enjoy your new found addiction!
