Yes, they work, and with USB joysticks too. RB1 uses DosBox, automatically and painlessly--just hit the icon and watch it load. RB3D is the stock version. Don't know if the add-ons will work, but if you're in that deep you probably have your own CD and your own set-up.
The fact that RB1 is fully playable bodes well for similar old DOS sims, like Knights of the Sky and Dawn Patrol, and Slye's Aces sims.

I believe there's something critical to 3D graphix missing from my computer. I'm too much of a compu-moron to figure it oput.

Star Wars Empire at War gives me a prompt about insufficient 3D hardware, yet Vista's Windows Experience rating () assures me I've got more than enough machine to run the game.

RB1 works fine, RB3D crashes as soon as the new Sierra/Dynamix splash screen runs, just like the disc version did. I sometimes get a measure or two of music before it crashes.

I bought these. One issue I have is how to adapt RBI to wide screen. I did not see a 'window mode' option.

I am going to try RB3d, I inserted the Western Front Patch and the Campaign Manager, hope it works.

This is excellent news! Will RB1 have its original sound?I downloaded the game from a site and when I press fire all I get is a piano key sound!

That's pretty cool. I've got the old games, but I'd be happy to get them again. I play Silent Hunter in DOSBOX on Linux and it runs great.

So I hope this has a workaround for the VooDoo card problem of only running on Voodoo 2000 and 3000 video cards? Have they thought about making this available in OpenGl? What's with the need for Windoze DirextX 7? It's been out for ages.

Are they still requiring you have a Glide wrapper for video cards other than the early VooDoo 3DFX versions? As I'm not interested if this if it has to run in "windowed" mode...

Hoping and wishing.

Nice to hear the series is once again available and all in one package for a low price. But other than DosBox being used to run RB1, is this just a repackaging of a patched RB3D?

I can deal with the occasional DTD problem, but anybody know if the "speed" problem with RB3D was addressed on newer and faster computers? At times RB3D runs so fast on my vista machine, its unplayable and ended my online flying.

Salute,
Steve

RB3D on Vista

I just bought it and it runs quite well on my dual core AMD with Vista 64 bit machine. I also installed the Hell's Angels Patch anf it made the game better.

Thanks for the info and glad your having success with it. My system mirrors yours and I just might take another go at it especially at only ten bucks.

Salute,
Steve
