Insignia US Air Service

I seek the origin of the badge of the US Air Service. This one was photographed by an American aviator at the entry of the camp of aviation of Parçay-Meslay (Tours) between 1917 and 1919.
Thanks
DL

The wing and propellor insignia was adopted by the US Army Air Service by Change 5 to Special Regulation 41 on 17 July 1918. The propellor was to be silver and the wings of bronze. This insignia replaced the very shortlived (approximately 80 days) winged globe superimposed over the Signal Corps' crossed signal flags.

US Air service insignia

Hello,
thank you for your answer. They are useful for me. I was mistaken in the photograph. It dates without the Twenties, in Parçay-Meslay (near Tours). On another one, taken by an American aviator (between July 1917 and April 1919), sees the same badge but with a French insciption: école (school) Tours. The camp of aviation of Tours (Parçay-Meslay) formed of the pilots and the French observers since November 1915. It was still French, but with americans cadets, form july 17; It was then guived (as from November 1, 1917) to the American army (2nd Aviation Center Instruction). It is possible that the badge owes that of the base when it was still French. Is it then possible that the badge of this base was selected like badge of the US Air Service in 1918? Thank you
DL
