Maybe Stogieman's Sergeant Vielstich wore one of these. I've been looking for a Turkish Turkish pilot's badge for decades...and I've got a shot at one. The only other one I've seen for comparison was Adrian Forman's (see below), and his was slightly different than this one--the cartouche at the top is filled with a wider white enamel disk, and had that larger red Koranic character like on the TWM. Also the angle of the wings. Any comments on originality? I know the Arabic script means something like "Praise be to Allah...in the year of..." COULD THE WING ABOVE BE POST-1918 since it has a different character? Ideas on value today?

It looks like Thies got 1900 Euros plus 20% in 2002. (Click on "Aktuelles" for all prices realized.) But I hate to go by his record-breaking results!

P.S. Speaking of Turkish pilots, they still make the news occasionally!
