Need Help Identifying Medals

I am trying to help a friend identify some WWI medals that were her great (maybe great great) grandfathers. I have found information on the two of her medals (there are four of them that have been framed in a grouping) The two I cannot identify are shown in my photo. The left-side medal reads Empereur des Francais Napoleon and the bottom reads Diocese de Versailles Reconnaisance (Catholic church medal?). I know these probably aren't specific to WWI aviation, but hoped that one of you might offer some insight or suggestions on how to track down info and value.

The one in the upper left of the photo is a French Legion d'Honneur, knight's badge, dating from the 2nd Empire period (1852-1871). Too early to be a WW1 award, so maybe it belonged to an earlier ancestor. Retail value is probably in the range of $200 to $300.

As for the other medal, what you already know may be as much as there is to know. There is very little information about locally issued school medals, sports medals, church medals, etc. Obviously this one is a token of recognition from the Diocese of Versailles. I don't think there are any published price guides, and the prices are simply "what the market will bear." You might try searching Ebay for French church medals and see what comes up.

Try using the LEONORE database LEONORE.

All you have to do is type in the surname. If this award is pre 1870, it should be there (the cutoff is date of death before 1958). Too bad my great-uncle lived another 15+ years - I'll have to wait)
