Hi I'm posting some pictures of a Imperial Russian Pilot and the wings he wore. *His name was Yuri Ivanovich Ly, *He was raised in Russia by a Foster family to be a diplomat. *He became a Pilot for the Czars airforce and in his later years did become a diplomat for the early Chinese republic stationed to Moscow. *id like to fine out more about him but havent been able to get very far..
Yuri was my Grandmothers first husband. *And this is all Info I could get from Her about him. *She didnt talk much about the Revolution days..

Any help out there would be greatly appreciated
THANKS George

Hi,

Probably nothing new to you, but looking at the silver badge he wears on the lower photo in the middle he was an officer, as only officer-pilots did receive this one. I have one of these in my collection since a few years.

Best from Johan

Hello George !

I see you found your way to our wonderful Aerodrome ! Welcome.

A few days ago the forum got a brand new facelift and in the process... a couple of my posts went west. They were subject your man.

In the time the threads were active I didn't get any replies. You may want to post the Yuri Ivanovich Ly info under 'people' if you haven't already. Chances of squeezing that type of information out of the 'medals and decorations' section may be a bit slim.

Other Forumites !

George was kind enough to allow me to include the Ly badges via my website. I haven't added anotation to the pics as of yet but any tidbits on this gentleman and/or his pilots badge et al before I do so would be muchly appreciated.

Thanx for the comment Reg... can you tell me more?
