Smile medals

My late husband Graham Dillon 21/08/1932 served in the Navy and saw action in the Korean war, i would like to get a set of medals he was awarded during that period for my Grandchildren.

Hoping someone can assist me with this as i am not familiar with this website

Regards,

Nola Dillon

Doc is correct - you need to go through the Navy and he has given you the website where you can start. The set of replacement medals they will provide will be based on his official records as the ones which he officially was awarded so you will need to be able to provide enough details on his service for them to be able to look up his records.

The medals they provide are newly made ones and so in some small ways they may not match perfectly to the ones that he earned 70 or so years ago. If that makes a difference to you and you would rather obtain a set of medals that would be identical to the original ones you have in his personal effects you would need to go through a militaria dealer. Any of them would be happy to help you purchase such a set of period medals for a price, though if he was awarded any but the most common of medals this could wind up costing some serious money.
