Mannock -

Those images helped somewhat, but are too indistinct to give a very accurate reprentation of the condition. On first sight it looks to be in fine shape though.

You should also check if it is hallmarked for either silver content - probably around .938 - or makers marks. If the case gives a clue to the jeweler, the maker mark should match. These would be found on the arm edges, usually on the rounded edge of the arm extremities.

Hello
It has 938 silber mark and an inverted W for Wagner's of Berlin.
The medal, case and carton are in fine condition.
I think the value would exceed well over $600.
Cheers

My favorite phrase is - "It's worth what I say it's worth". Of course the market decides, but if you're stubborn enough, and patient enough, the value will increase.............

Regards,

To tell the truth, the values on these have been going through the roof lately. I think "something over $700" would be the best guess at a cased example. If you decide you want to sell it, you don't have to look far for a buyer.

Hi
I have one , it's in perfect condition , post 1916 example , correct silver content and made by Wagner . Now I may well have been skinned when I bought it ( aussie for payed too much )....but I payed $850.00 u.s. ..
I've seen other examples go for about the same and sometimes more ..
But your so right , things are worth what someone is prepared to pay for them ..and I must admit i'm very happy with the purchase .

Tell the truth, they've been going up so fast, I'm falling behind the times. Detlev Niemann now sells them for around $800 u.s., without the case. This is partly due to the recent devaluation of the U.S. Dollar against the Euro.

Generally, even if you pay an arm and a leg for something, as long as you're close to the fair market value it's only a matter of time before your investment starts to pay off.
