Breguet Forum Ace of Aces Contributor Join Date: Aug 2001 Location: Australia Posts: 3,019	No one answered my previous post on this topic and I just found some answers so I though you might be interested. They were apparently awarded in 1919. They were dated 1917 because that was the year America entered the war. Only 8 commonwealth pilots were awarded them: Ball, Fullard,Bishop, McCudden, Mannock, Woolett Dallas and Coiffard. They have an inscription on their edge which translates as: To the heroes of the skies a crown of stars.
