prussian pilot badge

Hi all,

I'ld like to show you a prussian pilot badge of WWI. I didn't purchase this one but it was in a little lot of WWI collectibles. The others things was good but this piece ? I'm not a specialist of this kind of piece and I don't know if it is a good or a fake. Then your opinion interest me.
If it is a good one, who is the maker, the value, ...
Thanks for your opinions.
Kindly regards.

I expect others will give you their opinions, but to my eye I would say it is a poorly made fake. Real ones have fine detailing - this one appears as if it were made by casting and shows little detailing. This one also seems to have the silver peeling off of the base metal underneath.

It is definitely a fake...or rather a copy because it's so bad; the cast details, the flaking plating and the hallmarks on the back that it can't be mistaken for anything but a modern copy. $10 maybe.

On the positive side, if you’re a re-enactor, you can wear it without any fear of damaging a valuable original. An orginal stamped version...$800+, an orginal two-piece construction $1,100+

This is a well known fake by Goede, a company which produces reproductions of numerous Imperial decorations.
