I am a little surprised at the starting price of $5.00. I would assume that either the seller knows it is a forgery (thus a mere $5.00 would probably be enough), or he/she has no clue to what it is really worth. Immelmann's signature can command a price upwards of $2,000, and if this photo has no provenance, then it is worthless to me.

regards

I have a book signed by Ernst Udet in 1933. Floyd Gibbons book. Anybody know what it would be worth? Paid 15$ for it.

Hi Stephan,

You really got a great find there. Does the book have provenance? The reason why I ask is that signatures are easily forged, so it is always important to have a reputable dealer authenticate the item and give you the history, if known, of where he obtained it. Have you compared it to known authentic Udet signatures? I can honestly say that the reputation of the seller has as much to do with the value of the signature as the signature itself. BTW, I have seen his signature sell for as little as $350 US and upwards ($1,000+).

regards
