Eastern Front WW I photo albums

Hi,

On the site of the Library of Szeged, Hungary are some very wonderfull photo albums on the Eastern front, with a few aviation pictures in them also. Check the albums 12, 13 and 14.

Eastern Front

Great photos. Thanks. Two photos of a seaplane which looks like the one attacking the Caproni on one of Jim Dietz' OTF covers.

OTF Covers

Johann- All the OTF covers are on line. Try this for the one I was referencing. http://www.overthefront.com/issues/07_1.html
Did you publish a softcover book on Marinekorps Flandern? Great book. Got a copy from Greg VanWyngarden. Bought a hard cover book, too, but aviation content very low.

Thanks Taz !

Looks indeed quite the same. Yes I did publish the softbook, thanks for the compliment, did get a lot of help from Greg !

Made also some others on the subs operating from Flanders, German 38 cm Max guns and batteries in Flanders, etc.

A hard cover ? In German ? Could be my original book on the Marinekorps Flandern. Wasn't very happy with it, as it was just a translation of the Dutch version, and I had already better material by then.

Or otherwise in English it's Yielding the Dagger by Mark Karau.

Am preparing a second part on the softcover version on the German Naval Air Service. Large part will be on the I and II Marine Feldflieger Abteilung in the 1915-1916 period, found some really unique material from albums. And did get some help again from Greg on the Zeebrugge base. Hope to publish it in April.

Best from Johan

the photo http://www.bibl.u-szeged.hu/shvoy/15/image101.htm is Aviatik D.I (Lo) 115.23 (Flik 60J) w/ Austro-Daimler 200hp flown by Ltn.d.Res. Alois Rodlauer, 27 Mar 1918.

Thanks for the heads-up on these Johan

Hi Rod,

Interesting ! Thanks ! One identified ! Will see if I can decifer a number of words in the Hungarian text with the others. An extreme difficult language ! Repülogép means airplane, that I remember, but it's been some years and I only could read a bit of a menu and ask directions.
They also have a very interesting military museum at Budapest. Some smaller items on WW I aviation but still great !

Best from Johan

Just finished to translate text I could under the links above and give some details where possible
