How were autographs put into silver awards?
The question came up in a discussion today.
Does anyone know exactly how autographs were added to silver awards, trophies, trays etc? We've all seen a lot of silver cigarette cases, trays, etc with the "signatures" of one or several flyers inscribed, etched or engraved or? How was this done in WWI days?and copied or traced or?

Always trying to learn..That was a very interesting thread. Oddly, I recently joined GMIC and have been learning a lot from reading the old threads, most of this weekend. A very well run and designed website. But your reply sent me to the information I was looking for. Keep posting, as I'll never tire of seeing your beautiful avatar!
