A German dealer has posted up an
Ernst Udet card for sale this week, but buyer beware. I wrote to the dealer who insists its original, but I have my doubts.
The clues? The back looks unlike any other Sanke card I have ever seen, and the front of the card was obviously cropped and then reprinted with the white
border ( not on the original). As the Nazi's came to power they began to reproduce copies of the original Sanke cards to remind people of Germany's
heros from the first war. Some were marketed under the name Kreig Kards. I believe this card comes from this period. Original Sanke cards of Ernest Udet, as we all know, are quite rare.
