While at them moment, I wouldn't even be able to bring up $1.000 (23 year old poor student here), that would be quite a lovely idea!

I'm sure there are museums out there who don't check on eBay regularly but would still have an interest in purchasing such items.

The excerpts they chose from the Udet albums makes one wonder indeed. Curious...

Many thanks for sharing the material!

Jesus- Two lots of photo albums, Boelcke, Immelmann, Richthofen and Göring autographs, Petzold's personal war-time copy of "Der rote Kampfflieger" plus assorted medals, Christiansen's 1914 watch, personal bible and shaving kit... and holy $hite is that his wedding band?!

Excuse me while I faint.

If anyone's asking, I'm out robbing a bank.

I agree with you Crankcase. Lets be glad that we have someone like PJ around so that he can do what the rest of us only wish we could do. He isn't keeping his artifacts to himself, but is collecting them, preserving them, and putting them on public museum display.

No, Darren- I'm afraid it was too late already. You posted the final sum before I could cook up a plan for the heist...

Let's hope the new owner is an enthusiast who makes the material available.

I've looked at most of the other lots in the auction and there was some truly remarkable 'Imperial German' stuff there- Even one or two cavalry items for which I briefly contemplated selling off an organ or two.

I also recognized some artifacts that definitely came from the huge 2005 "Royal House of Hannover Clearance Sale" that brough them about $50.000.000. That certainly was the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a bargain here in Germany...

Holly *@&t.... Thats a lot of money.......

Peter if your the new owner I'm your best new friend

Heck, that would have taken 53 people pitching in $1,000.00 each...

Greg, I hope that you can get access to these once we find out who has them. I understand some of your frustration in not having a chance in making a bid. The only bright side to this is at lest each photo didn't get sold separate and the album is still intact.

Lloyd....

Unfortunately money talk In the sphere of negative there two kind of people- who just buy it as sport and who simply like them self too much. So in many cases many good collections are gone forever in private collections. As well I live where I live,, I almost become adopted on this manner as well this is normal behavbior here.

Long time ago I wanted to propose to make together action to buy. So Greg and Taz if you are plan to buy this collection I have in the moment 150 Euro to support your effort.

Thaks God that there is good people on this world and all of them are here on this forum.
