WWI Era Aviators Helmet

Gentlemen,

I thank you for allowing me to post within your fine forum. I had posted a while back in looking for any additonal information anyone could provide on a Army Air Corps Flyer by the name of, LT. C. Lester Morse. Not sure if he served in the Great War but I do know that he was one of the pilots stationed at Wheeler Field in Hawaii serving with the 19th Pursuit Squadron. I also know he was subsequently killed in a midair collision while flying his MB-3A over the field in 1925. Here is a series of pictures of his flight helmet. My apologies if he was a post war pilot in advance. Neat piece of history none the less..

Regards,

Joel

Gentlemen,

I have sent an email over to Steve Ruffin at, Over the Front and he was kind enough to confirm that Lt. Morse did serve in the Great War. However, to what capacity is still unknown. Thanks Steve!

Regards,

Joel

Gents,

Is there anywhere anyone can suggest I can go for additional information on him?

My Gallery
Where ?

Joel -

I suspect Steve found lt. Morse's name on the roster of pilots commissioned prior to 11 November 1918. The list is broken down by home state so my first suggestion would be to ask what state he was from and the address that is listed with his name - home town and street are included.

I'd sned a query to his town or county historical office or the State historical commission for a start.

Try Ancestry.com -- Browser Upgrade for birthdate, family geneology once you know what state he's from. You can often get a toehold by doing that.

If I get a few minutes, I'll poke through a list that may ID if he went to college/university. If so, the rest should be simple for you.
