one info is not correct.
The name "von Hailer" is wrong. "Hailer" is correct.
Franz Hailer was a pre war pilot, later CO from FFA 9b and FA(A) 292b.

Reinhard,

Thanks for the correction. I used the card shown in post #9, where it refers to him as v. Hailer. Neal W. O'Connor (Vol II) also refers to him as von Hailer.

So this is wrong then? It was just Hailer.

I believe that Neal corrected it in his later volumes, Vol. VI, I believe. In the later volume it refers to both Hailers as just that... no "von."

Oh, thanks, I didn't look into Neal's other volumes. Sloppy me.

So, the inscription on the the card itself is wrong? I thought that since it was written in that period, then it would have been known who was a "von" and who wasn't. Of course, mistakes were made then too.
