For me it would be, Omega MK 5 cockpit watch, (seen lots all knackered though), anything that has James McCudden’s signature and a Le Rhone rotary engine to hang on the wall.

A nice little mix.
Alex.

I saw that Antiques Roadshow UK with those artifacts again, this time I got a good look of those items. The broken bladed prop (with a clock in the hub as usual) came from a Camel that hit a mole hole on landing (also has the document describing the incident). Her fathers belongings included air-air photographs (which are quite rare),his diary, and a small box with trinkets(?)

Original photographs of aircraft and personel would be a nice part of my collection as well.

Thanks for the compliment on the group. It's all ID'd to an American that served in 74 Squadron. What I would really like to find, and maybe you all could help is a large model of an SE5a that I could display with my uniform group. I want one with at least a 24 inch wingspan. All the RC models I have seen that are that large are pretty lacking in detail. Any ideas?

You're very welcome! I have a reasonable collection of RFC Flying clothing, but not as much as you have in the way of uniforms. I am just about to have a look through my photograph collection, so I will have a look through the 74 Squadron section, to see how many photographs I have of this squadron. If you would like me to have a look to see if I have a photo of the member your uniform came from, I will have a look. My PM Inbox is still full but I will give you my e-mail address if you don't want to reply here.

One of the best if not the best kits available of the SE5a is made by Hasegawa, and they are 1:8 scale. They are not perfect, but they are reasonably accurate and reasonably convincing. They are expensive though, even second hand!

Regards,

David.

I know of a large SE5 model in an old antiques market me. As far as I know it's not in the best condition, but if it's still there would you like me to enquire? It's not open until next Monday, but I'll do all I can.

Alex.

Alex, Yes please! I would be very interested in finding out more about that model. Do you have a digital camera to take a photograph? Any help would be most appreciated!
